Coherencia educativa entre la pareja ¿Se puede conseguir?

No es justo…papá siempre me deja ver la tele antes de hacer los deberes y tú nunca…”.

Esto es lo más leve que nos puede pasar si nuestros hijos e hijas, detectan falta de criterios educativos en la pareja. En realidad no es tan difícil como pensamos. Sólo se necesita tiempo para ponerse de acuerdo y una visión clara de lo que debe ser más importante para nosotros: nuestr@s hij@s. Y es muy positivo, porque ganamos en paz, en tranquilidad en el hogar, con menos discusiones que socaven a la pareja. Trabajando en ello desde edades tempranas, sembraremos para el futuro.

L@s hij@s nos estudian, nos conocen y saben a quién y cuándo pedir ciertas cosas. Lo aprendieron desde la infancia, observándonos, interactuando con nosotros.

Se requiere pues una coherencia mínima de criterios y maneras de educar en la pareja. Deben percibir que aunque los padres y/o las madres somos diferentes, tenemos claro lo que queremos y exigimos por igual, porque intentamos educar por igual.

He aquí algunas posibilidades:

Situación A: uno de los dos suele tener más benevolencia  a la hora de conceder permisos.

Situación B: Tu hij@ te pide un permiso y dices que no. Lo intenta con el otro progenitor, que le dice que sí.

Situación C: Entre los progenitores hay diferencias significativas en los criterios sobre cómo educar a hijas e hijos, etc.

Situación D: Vuestr@ hij@ sólo respeta a uno de los dos.

Es normal que tengamos criterios educativos diferentes y que a veces no coincidamos, porque venimos de distintas familias, distintas educaciones.

Saber que es de vital importancia que aunemos criterios debiera ayudarnos, porque si no, “a río revuelto…”. Y lo peor es que en estas situaciones, uno de los progenitores suele salir mal parado. Es decir, que pierde autoridad.

Puede haber diferencias de opinión, que debieran solventarse en consenso de tal manera que nuestros hijos e hijas no noten “vencedores y vencidos”, sino unanimidad.

Para ello necesitamos tiempo para pensar y decidir las cosas siempre que sea posible. Hacer un esfuerzo por conocer a cada una de nuestras criaturas con sus peculiaridades será muy importante a la hora de resolver situaciones.

Y no pasa nada porque vean que tenemos opiniones diferentes, pero que actuamos en conjunto y entre nosotros respetamos la decisión de cada cual.

Un último consejo: Durante la siesta, ¡no le des permisos!.
